Shiatsu Yin Yoga

  • A 90 minute Yin Yoga class combining restorative Yin Yoga shapes with Shiatsu touch (acupressure points, holding and massage) - for a deeply restful experience.

    Yin postures are held for 4-5 minutes. Our Shiatsu Practitioners will move around the room, and while resting in the shape you will receive a short amount of Shiatsu bodywork to deeper support the meridian opening.

    These meridian-focused sequences are inspired by the energetics of the seasons and designed to balance the elements and energy flow in your body.

    The combination of slow stretches and the calming touch of Shiatsu offers a space for deep relaxation; improving circulation and inviting awareness to the whole body.

    Hello, I’m Kitty!

    I am a certified Yoga Instructor, Designer / Maker and Herbalist in training. In 2011 I dedicated 3 years to study classical Hatha Yoga and Vedantic philosophy within the Saraswati lineage, a wisdom tradition that stems back to Ancient India. I have been integrating this knowledge and practice into our busy post-modern life ever since.

    More recently, I have discovered the potency and necessity of restorative yoga practices as an antidote to the energetic demands of our time. I have since refined my offerings to healing experiences that allow participants to marinate in slowness, stillness and receptivity. It feels of great importance to offer these nurturing spaces of rest in these challenging times.

    My classes are uniquely crafted, multi-sensory experiences that combine the technologies of Yin/ Restorative Yoga, Massage, Sound and Poetry. It is my great joy to collaborate with other skilled practitioners of these Healing Arts. In particular, there is a beautiful synergy in the weaving together of Yin Yoga and Shiatsu massage! The poses we enter into together are designed to work in harmony with the meridians (energy lines) of the body, which are then carefully tended to with loving touch. We also work with energetics of the seasons to craft sequences that balance the elements within the system. Together it is our aim to create a soothing, grounding and nurturing space for all.
